Rogers Spring
IMG_1510Today I put together a page for my photography gallery on Rogers Spring, the luncheon stop on my last hike with the rock-hounds from the senior center. Rogers Spring is a hot spring which is caused by geothermal activity deep within the ground at the base of the hills. This super heated water comes up and then forms several pools within the area of Rogers Spring that eventually flows into Lake Mead. There are picnic grounds, barbeque areas and restroom facilities at this somewhat secluded spot. As the small stream that originates at the spring flows down to Lake Mead, it waters dozens palm trees and most of the birds and wildlife that is found in the immediate area. For more pictures and to learn more about this spot go to … Daytrip - Rogers Spring.

Today's Food for Thought:
"All photographs are there to remind us of what we forget. In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings. Paintings record what the painter remembers. Because each one of us forgets different things, a photo more than a painting may change its meaning according to who is looking at it."
– John Berger
