My wife Connie and I just spent a couple of days in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, a popular part of the Humboldt - Toiyabe National Forest, better known to locals as Mt. Charleston. It is only located 30-40 minutes from Las Vegas and encompasses more than 316,000 acres of remarkable beauty and surprising diversity. The most enjoyable part of our trip was visiting the wild horses that surround the town of Cold Creek, Nevada located at the very northern edge of this area. We spent nearly two hours driving and walking along the 'creek', watching, admiring and photographing these beautiful creatures of nature. Click here to view more of these beautiful animals ...
