Grapevine Canyon Hike (Click to Enlarge) My rock hound hike today to Grapevine Canyon might have been more accurately described as a hike to the Spirit Mountain Wilderness Area and/or to the Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area. As you can see from the map below, the boundary between these two areas is Christmas Tree Pass road. Spirit Mountain, a sacred destination for shamans of the ancient Yuman tribes, lies within the Spirit Mountain Wilderness Area and Grapevine Canyon and the Sacatone Wash, both famous for their petroglyphs, lie within the Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area.
