Young Artist’s Concert
Young Artist ConcertToday was another beautiful day, clear and sunny and near 80 degrees. Because it was so nice we decided to head up to the Henderson Pavilion to see and listen to the Henderson Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist’s Concert. They have one of these every year, featuring some of the most gifted children from the Las Vegas area, ranging in age from 12 to 18. In addition to a Mozart overture by the symphony, we heard three violin concertos, a trumpet concerto, a flute concerto, and a really outstanding piano concerto. Having won all kinds of awards, several of these kids have been performing since they were three and four years old; one has been in an orchestra since she was seven. As usual, it was excellent.
